Project overview
V CARE carried out the chilled water pipe insulation package at Mai Tower in Dubai as a subcontractor to Kalpataru Electromechanical Works. Chilled water lines run well below the dew point of Dubai's humid summer air, so the insulation and its vapour barrier are not a thermal efficiency detail — they are what stops the pipe running with condensate all season.
The critical areas on a job like this are the ones that are easiest to skip: supports, valve bodies and flange sets, where the insulation has to be carried through and sealed rather than stopped short. A break of even an inch produces continuous condensation, which saturates the ceiling void and eventually corrodes the pipe beneath the adjacent insulation. Our scope covered the insulation, coordination with the wider MEP installation, and inspection and testing, completed for handover on 1 November 2025.
